Marc’s Mini Tip: The Key to a Photograph from Ansel Adams

0 Posted by

Alfred Stieglitz who you’ll want to get to know as he was one of the pioneers who opened the way for photography being accepted as a fine art, not merely a recording device.

This is a segment you’ll want to study over and over, go out and shoot and watch it again! It is the key as he said.

Very special thank you to the Ansel Adams Gallery for loaning this footage © 2009 Ansel Adams Illumes. All Rights Reserved.

Nice to see a short clip of the master photographer although its not really much of a tip other then study your craft so they you can produce a final image that you see in your mind before you snap the shutter.

Hi, are you familiar with “photo SFX art” (google it)? There you can watch a nice free video explaining how to create outstanding pictures. This made it easier for Daniel to take photographs which leave you with a jaw-dropping-effect any time you look at them. Perhaps it will help you out also.

    how can anybody dislike this?

  • Kimberly A Edwards March 1, 2012 - 2:28 pm

What Ansel Adams says in the video is what I’ve heard +Trey Ratcliff say also. Trey uses more description and definition in what he deems “visualization”.Cool video footage!

I find this video especially poignant to me because this weekend I had my first experience of visualizing exactly what I wanted to create in my photo using specific lighting techniques and for the first time I had the breakthrough I have been looking for! It is so ironic that I see this video describing the exact same thing. WOW, the planets must have aligned!
