I came accross this incredible site. The croping to get the final composition was easy. But I kept fumbling with a photo editing software, to get the best histogram. (Blacks Points, Recovery etc), and of course, it never was right. Then it finally hit me. I remembered why I read lately in Bruce Barnbaum’s latest. There are no definite rules. Who says that a picture HAS to have blacks, midtones and high tones all at once ? It just has to look right. That’s why I kept midtones mainly.

Here’s another shot taken for a lady… i wanted to ask if anyone here could elaborate the term ’photography vision’…. i was told by some pros saying that they couldnt see any vision on my image…. but i was thinking that since everyone’s perspective is different… how could you simply judge whether one’s photos are bad? Does vision=story telling? if so, how can you tell a story in self portriat? Because self portriat are simply looking at the lens and snap….. really confusing….

Title: 606 Young PolicemenI began photographing my fellow policemen here at Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, 606 Foreign Embassy Guard Company. We are called AP aka Auxiliary Policemen in which we serve our country under a mandatory two-year-military-duty. Some chose to be an Army, Airforce, Navy or Marine, but these men chose to be part of ROK Police Force. All men are very young; age between 18~22. We have no weekends nor no holidays.Experience as a solider/police status is quite different and tough compared to a normal civilian’s. But I value what I am going through now. When I finally ETS I would like to remember our days and ourselves that I captured in photographic forms. This is the reason I started photographing my men. I see that when we grow up, when we have kids, when we have jobs, we will look at these photos and appreciate our strength, maturity, and experience then.
This man is CPL Han-Pyo Lee, a driver for the company’s captain. -

Theses are some images I took whilst waiting for my train at Souther Cross Staion in Melbourne Australia. I wanted to experimant with the lines in the station combined with movement of the trains, people and showing how the human factor interacts with its surroundings.
