What we use
Yes, we do use a lot of cool gear that you may be interested in, so here goes:
Still Photography:
I’ve been a Nikon user since the 60s when we were shooting with the classic Nikon F but beginning in 2005 I started with the D2X and love the D series, and have traveled all over happily capturing images.
I travel pretty light and tuck most of what I need into a LowePro backpack which has a spot for my trusty Macbook Pro along with various lenses, lens cleaning kit, Nikon SB 800 speedlight, a few filters and of course a whole bunch of SanDisk Cards.
Video Equipment
Here at Silber Studios we shoot on two Panasonic AG-HPX170. With the three 64GB P2 cards we can keep the camera rolling to capture all of the guest’s answers. The cameras sit on a couple of Manfrotto HDV503 fluid head tripods, otherwise the footage would be shaky and you would probably get a headache. When the Sun is just not cutting it, we set up our Westcott Spiderlight and screw in the daylight balanced bulbs. The audio is recorded with two Isomax Microphones, and we monitor it through a pair of Bose headphones. When the camcorders go to bed at night, they sleep in a Kata HDV case, and also a HPRC case.
As far as post productions goes, we run Final Cut Studio on our Mac pro with 30′ Display and Macbook Pro. Also connected, is a 23 inch Viewsonic monitor. We have a 1Tb Lacie drive, a 2Tb Lacie drive and an 8 Tb Lacie drive totaling over 11.1TB of hard drive space.
